A Confession

Several comments have been made about what beautiful pictures "I" take. I must confess. I never take pictures! Matt is my official blogtographer. He takes all the pictures for our family. I don't even know how to work our latest camera. I claim I want to be able to enjoy life without being stuck behind a camera, but really I'm just lazy. For all those reasons I only came back from North Carolina with 6 pictures on our old digital.

It was great to see my friend of 15 years again. We hadn't spent a significant amount of time together for 8 years but it was as if we hadn't skipped a beat. The main excuse for going was because Monique had a baby girl 8 weeks ago. Annabel Grace. She's adorable and darling and a disgustingly good sleeper. It was great to see her little family although most time was spent staring off into space during all the hours of nursing it takes to feed a newborn. (Just kidding Monique). Actually what I really did was play much more Dr. Mario than I care to admit. I was involved in an on-going Dr. Mario tournament when I was a sophomore in college and I was surprised with how easily it came back to me. I must say, Dr. Mario is one of my strongest talents in life. I tutored Monique extensively in order to get the games a little more exciting. By the end I had built quite a competitor.

Jane and Jackson (3) had fun playing together except for the fact that they fought like an old married couple the entire time. Jackson would ask Jane something trivial like, "Do you want to put your shoe's on, Jane?" Jane would rudely answer no to his many questions 90% of the time, to which Jackson would respond in a whiny frustrated voice, "Yeah!" Then he would repeat the question, and the cycle would continue. That went on for 9 days straight. Jane did become interested in babies for the first time. It was so cute to see her take interest in Annabel. She even wanted to hold her a few times.

Without further ado, here are the only pictures I took:

I don't know what it is about making your child kiss another child that is so cute but I hope to outgrow that within the next 10 years.

(Jane wipes off the kiss, but Jackson looks pleased)

more kissing.....

and more kissing....

After about a week in North Carolina I was getting Jane out of her crib in the morning and she announced, "I wanna go home." It was cool to see how aware she was of "home." She talked about going home to see Daddy, Uncle Nate, Paris, Candis, and Christina. And she also mentioned "doggies barking" during one of her conversations about home.

I am like a proud little auntie that Jane 'missed' me! I must say that those pictures look a little romantic! haha :)

I think it is absolutely hilarious that you are such a Dr. Mario pro, by the way.

cute... don't you think Mo's boy looks like his dad and the baby like her?...glad you had a nice reunion...and fyi i was once a tetris junkie until my cellphone bill came and I was charged 40 for a month! I didn't know you got charged for your time! So that came to a halt and I just haven't gotten into the computer version much, but i'll take on anyone who dares
love ya, glad your home again, even though it's too far away

You deleted the solicitation post, how sad. Ella, if Jackson marries someone other than Jane, and Jane goes on a mission and needs to marry a younger man because all the older ones are taken, would she consider Noah? I liked your shout out to the Dr Mario days. Those were days never to be forgotten :) I'm happy to know that you've still got game.

I feel flattered that Jane was excited to see me upon returning! And young love is so fun to see- even if it is a little staged. The baby is beautiful! I myself love Dr. Mario, or Tetris. I'm jealous you got to play so much- it's been years and years for me!

Ella,
Remember the first time you came to our house? Yeah, Super Mario Bros. Totally smashed Sam's record! And now you've done it again! Only this time, not to Sam!

I just want to say that I am proud to see my kids pictures displayed on someonelse's blog besides mine, even if they are characterized as whiny:) I just have to state for the record that you accidentally left out that I did beat you in at least 10 games of Dr. Mario even if that was about 5% of the total games played. I have finally stopped seeing those pieces drop in my sleep.
