Ten months was a good, good month for Hank. His bottom two molars came in and he spent most of this month sleeping pretty well and being happy. For the past few days though I think his top molars have started to bother him. But he's still a champ.
The big news is that he started walking. He LOVES to walk. All month long he practiced. He went from taking one or two steps at the beginning of the month to walking all around the house, going around corners, pivoting mid-walk, and being able to stand up without having to hold onto anything. It's been nice to have him so entertained by his own walking abilities. He's been pretty content to just walk around all day whistling.
One day when Jack put on a sweater vest that Hank had worn to church I noticed that it seemed to fit him pretty well, except for the length of course. So we measured the boys' waists and thighs. Hank was one inch larger in the waist and half an inch larger in the thigh.
In between all the walking he's managed to learn other fun stuff, too. He likes to take the stars of off his star stacker and put them back on again. He likes putting the balls into his dinosaur toy and the coins into his piggy bank. He's in the container stage where he loves to put something in and dump it out over and over again. He's much more like Jane than Jack in the way he focuses on doing his little "tasks." He works very deliberately. But he's unlike both of them in the way that I've hardly ever seen him get upset when things aren't working the way he'd like. He just keeps trying.
He loves to empty the dishwasher. We usually have to leave it open to let the dishes dry but after catching him taking out the butcher knife a couple times we've learned to be more careful. He also loves to empty my pots and pans cabinet.
His eating is kind of strange. He eats his purees and loves plain yogurt. But the only finger foods he likes are dry and crunchy, like Cheerios and freeze dried fruits. He just spits out anything else, like beans, diced fruits and veggies, etc. I guess all I can do is keep trying.
He's a super sweet boy. He loves to laugh. He gives me raspberries and loves to hug. Sometimes he just walks from me to Matt to me to Matt over and over again to lay his head on us for a hug. Sometimes he just dive-bombs on us but we consider that a hug, too. It is so sweet!

What a sweet little boy. Oh what fun they are. He is at such a cute stage. Love the blog and all the pictures. Oh if I could have done this when my kids were little, my mom would have loved it.
