I love Easter. This year our Easter Sunday was extra special because we were able to bless baby Hank in church that morning. We didn't set out the kids Easter baskets in the morning because all of our attention was focused solely on getting to church on time, 9 am, for the baby blessing. I could hardly sleep the night before because I was so worried about it. I was completely dressed and ready at 8:00, so I woke up Hank so I'd have plenty of time to feed him and dress him. Well, he had a different idea about when he wanted to eat breakfast. He kept refusing to eat. Finally at 8:52 he started eating. I had to send Matt and the kids without me to tell them I was, indeed, coming. I fed him as much as I could so that he wouldn't be crying but not too much that he wouldn't barf. Then I ran in my high heels holding Hank in a blanket the two blocks to the church. I walked into the chapel just as Brother Carsen was asking Matt in front of the entire congregation, "Is she coming?" I was so embarrassed but there wasn't a single seat that I could quickly sit down in.
Despite the grand entrance it was beautiful blessing. We were able to have some out of towners join us: Grandma and Grandpa Jespersen, Jenni, Jared and Stella, and Byron. And our local pals: Nate, Julie and Terrell and the Sabin clan. We felt very loved.
After church we went home so the kids could check out their Easter baskets.
We also tried to snap some pictures. Here's our best attempt at all 3 kids together. Jack's face is so hysterical. I love it. He was so excited to be holding baby Hank. Jane, obviously, is not as thrilled.
Our attempt at just the two older kids wasn't much better. Apparently they couldn't decide on how they wanted to pose together.
After church we all headed over to Sharon's for some Easter fun. The food and company were great. Julie and Grandma put together an awesome Easter egg hunt. Jack found the jackpot egg and got $20!

Jack is so cute in that suit and i love that the blessing was on easter.
I'm so excited! I made it on your blog! And your focus on getting everyone to church on time for the blessing reminded me of myself when we blessed Stella. Except our church started at 11. I'm impressed you made it, though. Our church is at 9 now and 80% of the time I come strolling into the chapel after the Sacrament.
